Expanding Our Capabilities with the DMG MORI DMC 65 FD Monoblock

Two years ago, we took a major step forward in our machining capabilities with the installation of our first 5-axis machine, the DMG MORI DMC 125 FD. That investment transformed the way we approach complex parts, opening the door to new possibilities in precision manufacturing.

Now, we’re proud to share the next step in our journey: the arrival of our DMG MORI DMC 65 FD Monoblock.

A New Benchmark in Productivity

“The triple pallet system on the DMC 65 FD is a huge advantage for us. We can prep one job while another is running, and have the next one staged and ready to go. It keeps the machine cutting almost nonstop, which is exactly what you want in production.

— Ralph Martinez, Production Manager

This machine isn’t just new—it’s a game-changer. Already, it’s powering through its first production runs with outstanding speed and accuracy. While the parts themselves are proprietary and confidential, the capability behind the work is something we’re excited to talk about.

The DMC 65 FD Monoblock combines high-performance milling and turning in a single setup, drastically reducing the need for multiple setups or manual intervention. With triple pallets, we can load, unload, and stage workpieces in parallel, keeping spindle time maximized and idle time nearly eliminated. The result? Faster throughput, greater flexibility, and higher consistency from job to job.

Technical Highlights

  • 5-Axis Simultaneous Machining – Complex geometries can be completed in a single setup with uncompromising precision.
  • Integrated Turning Function (FD) – Allows complete milling and turning operations on the same machine, eliminating the need to transfer parts to separate equipment.
  • Triple Pallet Changer – Keeps production continuous by enabling fast changeovers, staged setups, and true “lights-out” capability.
  • High-Capacity Tool Magazine – With 120 tool pockets there is an endless supply of tools to keep the spindle running and not have to perform manual tool changes.
  • Monoblock Design – Ensures rigidity, vibration damping, and long-term accuracy under heavy machining conditions.

How It Complements Our DMC 125 FD

The arrival of the DMC 65 FD Monoblock builds on the foundation we laid with the DMC 125 FD:

  • Size vs. Agility – The DMC 125 FD is a larger-format machine designed for heavy, oversized components, while the DMC 65 FD delivers the same precision in a more compact, agile package—perfect for medium-sized parts and quicker cycles.
  • Dual Pallet vs. Triple Pallet – Our DMC 125 FD runs on dual pallets, ideal for large, specialized jobs. The new DMC 65 FD’s triple pallet changer is built for continuous production and lights-out machining.
  • Balanced Workflow – Together, the two machines give us flexibility across the size range of parts we handle, ensuring we can assign jobs to the best-suited platform without compromise.

This contrast gives our shop a one-two punch: the brute force capacity of the DMC 125 FD alongside the high-mix, high-efficiency agility of the DMC 65 FD Monoblock.

Why It Matters

For our customers, this combination means shorter lead times, tighter tolerances, and confidence that even the most demanding parts are being manufactured with world-class precision. For our team, it’s a leap in efficiency and flexibility—giving us the tools to push the limits of what we can do in-house.

Looking Ahead

Every machine we add is part of a bigger story: our commitment to continuous improvement. From the DMC 125 FD to the DMC 65 FD Monoblock, each step represents investment not just in technology, but in delivering smarter, faster, and more reliable solutions to our customers.

The DMC 65 FD is more than a machine—it’s another milestone in our mission to be the partner you can rely on for precision manufacturing.
