CHARLOTTE, NC – Pioneer Motor Bearing is proud to announce that David Saldo will become the company’s next President, effective January 1, 2025. David will be the fourth President in Pioneer’s remarkable 104-year history, continuing a legacy of stability and visionary leadership.
This transition comes as Gordon Bardet, who has served as President since 1989, prepares to retire at the end of December. Gordon leaves behind an indelible mark on the company, having dedicated the last several years to cultivating a new generation of leadership at Pioneer.
David Saldo’s journey to this milestone exemplifies the values of hard work, continuous improvement, and commitment. A native of Cleveland County, North Carolina, David graduated from Kings Mountain High School in 1990. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary, reflecting his deep-rooted faith and community involvement. David later pursued an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design from Cleveland Community College, which set the foundation for his distinguished career in the industrial sector.
David joined Pioneer Motor Bearing in 1994 as a CNC machinist at the age of 22. Over the next 30 years, he rose through the ranks, excelling in roles across estimating, manufacturing support, and plant management. Along the way, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Carolina University, while balancing his roles as a full-time employee, a devoted husband to Wendy, and an active father to their two sons, Lucas and Noah.
“David’s deep knowledge of our processes, products, and culture, combined with his thoughtful approach to problem-solving, makes him uniquely suited to lead Pioneer Motor Bearing into the future,” said outgoing President Gordon Bardet. “Under his leadership, I am confident the company will continue to thrive, building on our proud traditions while embracing new opportunities.”
As Pioneer Motor Bearing enters its next chapter, the company celebrates this leadership transition and extends its gratitude to Gordon Bardet for his decades of service.
