Pioneer Motor Bearing operates the only bearing repair service or organization that we know of which is licensed by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to perform authorized repair services using their drawings and engineering information.

We’ve been an exclusive licensee of Westinghouse (now Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation) since 1989, and of ABB Power Generation, Inc. since 1993.

The advantages to the end user operating Westinghouse or ABB equipment are numerous, and end users of other OEM machinery also benefit:

• Regardless of the equipment you operate, whether you’re in the power generation, industrial, petrochemical or marine market, you are assured of an OEM "pre-qualified" repair service, subject to OEM quality and performance audits.
• So, if you send us bearings designed by G.E., G.E.C., Mitsubishi, Hitachi, RENK, Demag DeLaval, Sulzer, Allis Chalmers or others, you can be assured that the same quality assurance program and repair procedures used to repair Westinghouse and ABB bearings will be used to repair your bearings.
• No other independent bearing repair service in North America that we know of has been audited and approved by an OEM to serve as an authorized repair facility.
• With 8 decades of experience, there’s a good chance we’ve already repaired the type or style of bearing you send us, regardless of the OEM identified with the design;

If you are operating Westinghouse or ABB equipment, we offer the following, special benefits as an ABB and Siemens Westinghouse licensee:

• We have legal access to Siemens Westinghouse and ABB bearing drawings. They are either already on file at our plants or obtainable from the OEMs quickly;
  
  
• We have all applicable, current Siemens Westinghouse and ABB specifications – for material, pre-engineered upgrades (if any), procedures, and inspection requirements;
  
  
• When you call with a request for a repair quotation, we can pull the applicable drawing and consult with you about the part in your possession. Depending upon the bearing, we may be aware of an OEM upgrade to improve performance. And, of course, with the drawings, we can provide you with a fast, precise quotation.
  
  
• Because of our experience and know-how, our license agreements and our on-going discussions over the years with ABB and Westinghouse design and service engineers, we are able to completely re-manufacture and restore badly damaged bearings back to the original ABB or Westinghouse specifications.
  
  
• We have developed a proprietary, patent-pending babbitting process for manufacturing and repairing bearings with babbitt bonded to copper or copper-chrome backing materials to prevent embrittlement of the babbitt bond. So, if you operate a Siemens Westinghouse or Hyundai 501 gas turbine with "Cupaloy" (copper-chrome) bearings, you’ll be happy to know Siemens Westinghouse has approved our process after we passed rigorous tests. So, we are qualified to manufacture Cupaloy bearings for Siemens Westinghouse, and repair them for you. In cooperation with Siemens Westinghouse, we’re working to help keep your equipment working longer.
