From the Industrial Era to the Information Age, Pioneer has built new bearings of virtually every type and style, from simple to complex journal bearings and seals to thrust bearings, primarily to the designs of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of industrial and marine rotating equipment.

In 1968 we established our engineering department and invented the Fluid Pivot^Ž Tilting Pad Journal Bearing. Since then, we’ve gradually devoted increasing time to manufacturing our own designs.

Today, we design with 3 dimensional computer aided design (CAD) software. Next we execute "virtual manufacturing" of a design with a 3 dimensional, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) program. Then we cut real chips on state-of-the-art computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools to produce the final product. Finally, we use all appropriate instruments, including CNC coordinate measuring technology, to insure parts meet all specifications.
