In an increasingly deregulated market, reliable delivery of electricity to customers is an important competitive factor. At the same time, the bearing repair industry is fragmented, appearing as a revolving door of repair shops coming and going. In this environment, generators of electric power increasingly want genuine value, measured by more than the initial price charged for bearing repairs. Many seek long-term relations with experienced, competent and stable suppliers in various specialties. They want to be able to count on good, working relationships with reliable suppliers when the chips are down during unplanned outages.

This is evidenced by the number of formal, contractual relationships Pioneer has been entering into for several years with electric utilities to provide them services under annual or longer term contracts.

We’re prepared to enter into service alliances with generators of electric power. We’ll not only provide bearing repair services, but technical training and professional engineering seminars. For a variety of maintenance and engineering personnel, we can cover everything from basic bearing maintenance and repair information to the theory of fluid film bearing design and operation (and how theory relates to maintenance).

Our long-established utility customers know we use the same technical service personnel, machinists, and proven processes to repair their bearings as we would to manufacture new ones for original equipment manufacturers. (Just ask PG&E, who we’ve been serving for 59 years.) They appreciate dealing with a company which knows "why" we do what we do, not just "how to."

If you’re in operations and maintenance with an electric utility or other generator of electric power, we invite you to contact us for a current list of those utilities with whom we have contracts. We’ll be happy to explore with you the "value added" benefits of a formal or informal alliance with us.
